KDE Desktop Environment Configuration
Set Dark Theme
Navigate to Global Theme
via:
Appearance & Style > Colors & Themes
Select and apply the Breeze Dark
theme.
Set Shortcuts
Navigate to Shortcuts
via:
Input & Output > Keyboard > Shortcuts
Set Application Shortcuts
Set the following shortcuts for each respective application listed under the
Applications
list divider:

If a desired application is not listed, then click Add New

then click Application
select the desired program, then click

Set Window Shortcuts
Set the following shortcuts for Kwin
under the
System Services
list divider:

Modify Window Appearance
Remove Title Bar and Add Borders
Navigate to Window-Specific Overrides
via:
Appearance & Style > Colors & Themes > Window Decorations > Edit Theme > Window-Specific Overrides
Click Add
then enter .*
into the
Regular expression to match
field to apply the changes to all
windows.
Check the Border Size
check-box and adjust the option to
Large
.
Check the Hide window title bar
check-box.
Click Ok
and then Apply
to apply the changes.
Getting a Border to Display on Maximised or Tiled Windows
Navigate to General
window decoration settings via:
Appearance & Style > Colors & Themes > Window Decorations > Edit Theme > General
Check the Draw border on maximised and tiled windows
check-box
to display the border.
Getting Firefox to Display a Border
Right click on the toolbar and then click Customise Toolbar
.
Check the Title Bar
check-box to display the border.
Click Done
to apply the change.
Change the Border Colour of the Active Window
Navigate to Colors
via:
Appearance & Style > Colors & Themes > Colors
Edit the existing theme.
Navigate to the Colors
tab.
Change the Color Set
option to Header
.
Change the Normal Background
colour to the desired colour for
the active window border (e.g. #4b7f38).
Save the colour scheme. Note that the default colour schemes cannot be
changed. So if editing the default scheme, a prompt will be given to enter a
new name for the new custom colour scheme. After entering the new name click
Ok
.
Once the colour scheme is saved, click Close
, then click
Apply
.
